Chanel Price Increase History, 2010 to 2026
A Medium Classic Flap was $4,900 in 2016. It is $11,700 today. Every Chanel price we can cite, size by size, in dollars and euros — and what the numbers leave you deciding.
Chanel has raised the US price of the Classic Flap Medium in 13 of the last 16 years. It cost $2,850 in 2010, $4,900 in 2016 and $11,700 in September 2026, which is +139% over the last ten years, or about 9% a year compounded. The steepest steps were 2020 to 2021 (+20%) and 2022 to 2023 (+16%); since 2024 each annual increase has been between 4% and 6%.
Chanel does not publish a price history, so this page is assembled from dated price lists published at the time and from chanel.com regional prices recorded on 22 September 2026. Every figure below is one size in one currency; sizes are never averaged together. Sources are listed at the end.

Classic Flap: every size, then and now
The Medium is the reference point, but the smaller sizes have risen faster in percentage terms. The Small more than doubled between 2018 and 2024; the Jumbo and Maxi rose by a little under 90%. US figures come from a dated US price list of the period, with the 2026 Medium from chanel.com.

In euros the pattern is the same and the current gap to the US is narrow. The Medium is €10,500 on chanel.com in France, Germany and Italy in September 2026, which converts to roughly $12,000 before any VAT refund, against $11,700 in the US.

Boy Chanel
The Boy has risen more slowly than the Classic Flap. In Europe the Old Medium went from €3,100 in 2015 to €6,900 in 2026 (+123%), but from its 2018 price of €4,180 the rise is +65%. The New Medium went from €4,650 to €7,250 over the same 2018 to 2026 window (+56%) and the Small from €3,850 to €6,200 (+61%).

The US lists we hold for the Boy give three prices a year without naming the size, so we report them smallest to largest: $4,600, $5,000 and $5,500 in 2019 became $6,700, $7,200 and $7,600 in 2025, a rise of 38% to 46%. Full detail on the Boy price page.
Coco Handle
Four sizes, again reported smallest to largest because the US lists do not name them. In 2018 the range was $4,200, $4,500 and $4,900; in 2026 it is $6,100, $6,700, $7,200 and $7,900. Wallet on Chain
The classic quilted WOC cost $2,100 to $2,400 in the US in 2017 depending on leather, and $3,575 to $3,700 in 2025, about +60%. In Europe it went from €1,865 to €1,980 (2017) to €3,250 to €3,450 (2025). Wallet on Chain price page.
Chanel 25
The 25 launched for Cruise 2024/25 at $6,000 (Small), $6,400 (Medium) and $6,900 (Large) in the US. By 2026 the Small is cited at $6,800 and the Medium at $7,500, increases of 13% and 17% in two years. Chanel 25 price page.
What the pattern says if you are buying now
The increases have eased — 4% to 6% a year across 2024, 2025 and 2026, against the 16% to 20% jumps of 2021 and 2023. That is the good news, and it is relative. The more useful shift is between the sizes: a Small was 89% of a Medium's US price in 2018 and 96% by 2024, so sizing down barely saves anything now and you may as well buy the bag you actually wanted. And Paris is no longer the answer it was. Converted, the euro and dollar prices sit close enough that the trip only pays for itself through the VAT refund.

**Classic Flap** (4.30/5) — after three years of heavy use it is holding up very well, but the thin leather straps rub against the chain, the interior zip pocket marks the flap, and the CC clasp inevitably scratches.
**Boy** (3.98/5) — the bold link chain and boxy shape make an elegant, edgy evening piece with usable interior space, but for nearly a thousand more than a Flap it has only one pocket, marks with fingerprints, and the chain rubs the lambskin.
**Reissue 2.55** (3.83/5) — every detail carries meaning, from the jockey-inspired quilting to the burgundy interior and the mademoiselle lock, and it works day to night with genuinely good pockets.
What you get back
Retail is only the price going in. Across the live resale listings we track, a Classic Flap asks a median of $4,970 over 2,521 listings, against $11,700 for a new Medium — roughly 42%. The Boy asks $3,977 across 1,115 listings, the 19 Bag $4,117 across 460, the Coco Handle $5,075 across 178 and the Wallet on Chain $2,600 across 286. Two caveats worth holding onto: these are asking prices rather than sold prices, and each median spans every size, leather and age in that model, so read them as a ranking rather than a quote on your bag.
