The everyday icon — a 1930 travel bag scaled down for the city.
Introduced in 1930 as the “Express”, a city-sized companion to the Keepall duffel, the Speedy is Louis Vuitton’s most recognisable handbag. Its fame was sealed in 1965 when Audrey Hepburn asked the house for a smaller version — the Speedy 25 — which remains the best-loved size.
The shape is a soft, boxy barrel in coated Monogram canvas with vachetta leather trim, a double-zip top and rolled handles. Modern sizes run from the Nano through 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40, with “Bandoulière” versions adding a removable shoulder strap.
